Cleaner Operative

We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Hygiene Operative to join our dedicated team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our production areas. Your efforts will directly support food safety and quality, making you a key part of our operations. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow hygiene protocols in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning of production lines, machinery, and general production areas.
- Ensure full compliance with hygiene standards and food safety regulations, including BRC and HACCP.
- Support deep-cleaning operations during maintenance or production shutdowns.
- Handle and dispose of waste safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as scrubber-dryer machines.
- Replenish hygiene materials like soap, paper towels, and cleaning agents as needed.
- Record hygiene activities and report any issues or hazards to your manager.
- Maintain cleanliness in external areas as part of the hygiene programme.
- Work flexibly across hygiene tasks and assist other departments when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning or hygiene roles is a plus but not required.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices (e.g. HACCP, BRC) is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when needed.
- A hands-on mindset and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards.
- Good physical condition and ability to work in shift-based schedules.
- Strong sense of responsibility, accuracy, and attention to detail.
